Since 1990, Spex Seating has been manufacturing chairs for children and adults with severe disabilities. Each chair is created for a specific person, taking into account hundreds of parameters: anthropometry, individual structural features, the requirements of the treatment process and personal preferences. The company's products allow you to cope with everyday physical, functional and cognitive problems. Maintain activity and efficiency both at home and in society
How it worked before
In order for the patient to receive a chair specially made for him, well-coordinated and coordinated work of all participants in the chain is necessary: doctor, distributor, importer, manufacturer

If it was necessary to order an individual chair, the doctor simply filled out a special form on 33 pages. After that, he sent a request for production to the distributor. And then according to the scheme (on the page above)
Completing this form requires knowledge. The doctor needs to be taught how to deal with hundreds of fields in which you need to correctly write down the necessary parameters.
On the one hand, high complexity creates a barrier and causes resistance from doctors. On the other hand, the paper version of the order form inevitably leads to numerous errors that can only be identified at later stages. This means that the terms of manufacturing and delivery of the chair will not be optimal, and all contractors will incur additional costs for communication and waiting
Solution
We have explored and formalized communication processes. We digitized product parameters, relationships and dependencies between them, created models of parts and parameterized them. Created interfaces for management and interaction. Now the doctor has several tools and ways in which he can form an order
Product Selection Tool
The first tool is the simplest - you need to specify the basic data about the patient. Gender, age, weight, type of wheelchair used, level of muscle tone - only about 2 dozen parameters. The system will automatically generate a list of suitable components. You just need to select specific options and customize them. This method is suitable for simple cases that do not require deep personalization of the product
MAT Assessment
The second tool is more difficult. You need to fill out a detailed form with the patient's data, diagnosis, details of the condition and physical capabilities, the needs of the treatment process and living conditions - about 40 points in total. And then separately indicate the features of the structure and work of the musculoskeletal system.
This will take into account more complex factors. The result of the design is better suited for patients with complex cases. Such a chair will not only give comfort to the patient and help him in everyday life, but will become an important treatment tool
It happens that the result obtained by the first two methods does not fully satisfy the customer. In order for the product to meet all possible requirements, we have created a manual 3D configurator. In it, you can refine every detail of the future chair - design, dimensions, many properties and qualities, materials. Numerous accessories can be selected and customized. The result of the modification is always in front of the eyes of a specialist in the form of a 3D model.
The configurator can be used not only to customize the product, but also to assemble the chair from scratch. For this, there is all the necessary functionality

Selecting hundreds of parts, setting their parameters, managing dimensions, qualities, materials and functionality. Everything is available in the visual 3D configurator. We have set up relationships between various parameters and settings. Thanks to this, the number of possible errors was minimized.
The doctor solves the problem faster and reliably controls the result. The patient receives a ready-made chair faster. The manufacturer does not waste time communicating and correcting errors
Order placement
After the order is formed in any of the ways, it is collected in the basket. Each item in the order is displayed as a separate line along with settings and parameters. It is necessary to indicate the location on the world map in order to control the availability of the entire list of necessary details.
